Vent is the place for you to express yourself. Don't have anything to share but feel like you can listen to others? Come join us!

NOTE: August 12th edition of Vent has unfortunately been cancelled.

Vent strives to create a safe and supportive space to explore, exchange views, reflect and meet new people. Importantly we want you to have lots of fun and laughter – this is a great way to relieve stress and help make your worries fly away.

Join us for a space where you can be your full authentic self, as loud or as quiet as you want to be, with a community of folks who get it.

This event is open to Black, Indigenous and People of Colour who identify as Queer.

Online sessions are open to those across Turtle Island.

While Vent encourages you to freely express we do have some guidelines for the event.

In order to preserve people’s safety and promote that this is a safe space to let loose without any fears, we ask our community to uphold confidentiality and not share any stories or information revealed in these events unless given express permission.

We have the right to refuse entry/ ask someone to leave if they are creating an unsafe space for others in the community.  

Oppressive attitudes and behaviour -- including but not limited to misogyny, transphobia, racism, fatphobia, religion and ableism -- are not welcome here

Queer Events and House of Anansi are located in Deshkan Ziibiing, which is the traditional territory of the Anishinaabek, Haudenosaunee, Lenape and Attawandaron Nations – each of whom have left their lasting mark upon the history of this area. Today, Deshkan Ziibiing and the surrounding area are subject to the Upper Canada treaties and specifically the Longwoods Treaty of 1822.
