Forest City Men's Group
Connect with your community
Forest City Men's Group was created for gay, bi, and gay-friendly men in the London and Southwestern Ontario area. This group is intended to create or perhaps,"re-introduce" the idea of community within gay circles particularly for men and their needs to make valuable social connections and cultivate relationships with other men.
Currently, we have a weekly coffee get-together (Tuesday coffee break) and a Sunday brunch plus a monthly dinner meetup. We are there also as your resource centre to let you know of any events in the city that might be of interest to gay men as well as being there as a source for information. Through our discussions board , we are able to chat about anything and everything: current events, hobbies, politics, music, sports, arts, theatre....anything that's on your curious mind! If you're looking for others to meet up at one of London's annual events (Sunfest, Ribfest, home shows, etc), looking for a travelling companion, or going to a movie, post your plans. There might be someone out there who would like to go but doesn't want to go alone.
And if you are looking for someone to paint a wall, cut your grass, help move boxes, get you to a doctor's appointment, etc....well, here's where you can ask for that assistance. We know that there are often times where just knowing someone is gay or gay-friendly is more comforting and less intimidating when discussing some project. Here is your chance to find that someone or someone who knows someone to help you get it done.
Please be respectful of this group and the friendships that it may foster. The social scene in London and surrounding area seems to have become dismal and non-existent since the comfort of online cruising (not to mention that some of us have slowed down over the years) but hopefully through a group effort like this, we can connect and revitalize this important element of our lives. No man is an island!
