The MSU Pride Community Centre is proud to present Transcendence 2021, a week of programming dedicated to celebrating the beauty, resilience and excellence in the identities of transgender, non-binary, Two-Spirit, and questioning folks.

All events will be taking place via Zoom with closed captioning.

From March 17th to March 22nd, we will be running a variety of events including; a community group, various discussion spaces, an educational space, and a writing workshop including events with speqtrum Hamilton and MSU Woman and Gender Equity Netowrk (WGEN)

 

Transcendence 2021: Event Line Up

Trans & Non-Binary Community Group

When: 7-8:00 pm

A community support and social open to transgender, non-binary, Two-Spirit, and questioning folks. 

Relationships While Trans

When: 6:00 - 7:30pm

Join Speqtrum and the PCC for a discussion focused around navigating identity and relationship while trans. 

Note - this event is open to trans folks

Gender Euphoria: Art of Affirmation

When: 4:00 - 5:30pm
Date:

A space to engage in reflective letter writing, stories, poetry, or other art forms that speak to the beauty, resilience, and joy of trans identity. 

Submissions for letters, poetry, stories, or other art pieces will also be collected via PCC socials leading up to this event.

Trans Education and Experience

Part I Building Trans Inclusive Spaces (1 - 2:00pm, Open to everyone)

Join the PCC and WGEN for an educational talk on gender, trans identity, use of trans-inclusive and gender-neutral language, gender affirmation, and more!

Part II Gender Affirmation 101 (2 - 3:00pm, Open to trans folks)

A discussion-based space for trans folks to discuss our experience with gender, as well as provide information on safe gender affirmation practices. 

Writing Resilience

When: 3 - 4:00pm

A writing workshop open to trans folks and their friends led by poet Syd Lazarus (they/them). 

The workshop will create space to explore writing as a form of resilience as well as an expression of self-identity.
