Intersex Awareness Day
Intersex Awareness Day, held annually on October 26th, is an opportunity for everyone learn more about the depths of the Intersex community, issues faced by folks with Intersex traits and find meaningful ways for both community members, and allies to work together to further the pursuit of Intersex rights and equality.
While there is a long way to go and far too many regions will not have any community events, locally, we are fortunate to have Intersex London Canada, who are planning upcoming community events for everyone to participate in with both in-person and virtual events in support of Intersex Awareness Day (October 26th)
Intersex Awareness & Local London Community
For many years now Intersex London Canada, a local grassroots community group, led by Piper Kearney, has remained focused on building awareness and knowledge around the calls for Intersex rights & equality, challenges faced by Intersex folks, while also working to increase representation of the Intersex Community here in London, On.
Did you hear the news?
- Intersex London recently announced the intersection at Richmond & Central (London,ON) will be painted to reflect Intersex flag!
- In 2019, after the persistence and dedication of Intersex London, the Intersex Flag was raised at City Hall London for the first time in support of Intersex Awareness Day. We'll see the flag back outside of city hall again this year.
Educational Rally to Raise Intersex Awareness
Intersex London Canada is hosting an in-person social distant event, where the community can come together to both raise awareness and learn about current issues facing Intersex folks in our community. The rally in support of Intersex awareness starts at Victoria Park on October 23rd.
- Showing support and connect with your community! Bring your rally sign, wear purple and yellow, grab your mask and join Intersex London in Victoria park.
Important Note: Covid-19 protocols are to be respected at this event, please keep your distance, wear a mask and bring your hand sanitizer.
Intersex Lunch & Learn
Join Intersex London for a virtual Lunch & Learn on Intersex Awareness Day - October 26th.
We'll have a discussion about the Intersex community, current legislation before the government and more. There will also be an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
Everyone is welcome to join this Lunch & Learn taking place on Zoom from 12-1pm on October 26th. This is a family friendly event.

Intersex Support Group
Intersex London holds a regular support group where where individuals with Intersex traits can talk and get support in honor of Intersex Awareness Day, October's group will meet virtually on the 26th from 5:30-7pm (EST) using Zoom

How To Show Support for Intersex Awareness

Attend the Rally!!
- Show up to the rally wearing your purple or yellow to the rally. We'd love to see those Intersex and Queer community flags too.
- Create a sign sharing supportive messages or calling attention to important issues within the intersex community.
- For those who can consider making a cash contribution to help Intersex London continue to support Intersex folks and awareness in London On.
Can't Make It? Make a Virtual Difference!
If you can't make it to the park but have a picture you can share highlighting you support and celebration of intersex awareness send it to Intersex London on FB but have a great flag to show off or maybe you have a picture of yourself with your intersex rally share it with Intersex London.

Community Contributions
Cash contributions can be made in-person at the rally, support will be used to facilitate future activities Intersex London in the pursuit of raising awareness and support for folks born with Intersex traits.
Gift Cards that can be used for printing such as staples, ordering supplies from places such staples, walmart dollar stores, prepaid credit cards, dinner cards etc are all very help and much appreciated! Physical cards can be dropped off at the rally on Oct 23.
